Our Mission
Always Smile is a Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) Applied Dental Charity, helping to provide oral care to those in need to help restore their oral health and make them feel like they can Always Smile.
We help connect those in need with dentists who are willing to donate their chair-time.
We help people smile again.
Our History
In 2000, the "silent epidemic" of dental disease received widespread attention when the Surgeon General issued a nationwide call to action to combat the problem. Today, more than 1 in 4 (26%) of adults in the United States have untreated tooth decay. Moreover, some individuals may have trouble getting the dental care they need. There are three adults without dental coverage for every one without medical coverage among those aged 19 and over.
Always Smile was established in 2010 by Dr. Marianne Cohan, DDS who wanted to do something about the oral health crisis.
Today, Always Smile maintains its dedication to bettering oral health outcomes by providing resources to individuals and organizations that facilitate oral health preventive and education services and dental treatment, particularly for people in underprivileged groups.
Extending Opportunity for Dental Care
We leverage the pre-existing network of dental offices around the country. All the doctors and clinicians that work at these offices are here because they want to help our patients.
Due to the fact that our strategy makes use of already-established networks of dentists and dental offices, not a single penny should be spent on brand-new facilities. Not one cent is spent on administration. To put it another way, for every $1 million raised, about 7,200 people in dire need of dental care can receive treatment each year.
